Stamp with Craft

Birthday Wishes

This is a card I made for my sister for her birthday. She loves her speciality coffees so I couldn't go past a retired stamp set "Like it a Latte" for a feature on her card.

I have used my Cuttlebug to emboss the chocolate chip cardstock. I have stamped the images in chocolate chip, close to cocoa and rose red. The steam has been stamped directly on to the cardstock, whereas the other images have been stamped on excess cardstock, cut out and adhered to the image using Stampin' dimensionals. For added effect I have used dazzling diamonds to add some glitz to the heart and the steam (if you want to know how I did this, drop me a line).

Other embellishments I have used include a silver brad and some purely pomegranate double stitched ribbon (retired product). Hope you like!!!

Well it has been awhile!!!! Life has been full of changes for me, including a new job which requires more hours in addition to running after my two young ones - therefore my craft/scrapbooking has taken a back seat. There may be fewer uploads......sorry. I have only just placed my order from the new Stampin'Up catalogue that came out in April (how sad is that)!!!

This is a card I made for my Mum for Mother's Day (even that seems like ages ago). The DS paper I have used was from the Stampin' Up Spring Mini Catalogue last year, 'Apple Cider'. I really liked the earthy tones of the paper, and that led to the inspiration for the rest of the card. The cardstock is Kraft. I have used the sentiment from Occasional Greetings (pg 112) and stamped in Chocolate Chip. I have sponged the edges of the card in the same ink to give a bit of an aged and weathered look. The ribbon is wild wasabi double stitched ribbon (retired). Hope you are all well and being more crafty then myself....see ya round.

My Daughter's Thankyous

Bit bummed at how this photo turned out, but hopefully you get the idea. These are the thankyous I made for my daughters' birthday party which we had last weekend. She had such a wonderful time and I wanted to thank everyone personally. It was a fairly simple design. The cardstock is pretty in pink. I have then used the scallop punch, which is available through the Summer Mini catalogue (but only till the end of March) around the outside of the cardstock for added effect. I have taken some coordinating paper from the Spring Fling DS (pg 135) to decorate the front of the card. Lastly, I have cut a strip of certainly celery to go across the centre and have used the stamp set Short & Sweet (pg 118) for the sentiment. I think it came together nicely and very quickly which is the most important thing.

My Little Fish

I had a scrapbooking day with a girlfriend yesterday. Always good when I need some inspiration. I had some photos from my son's swimming lessons last year that I wanted to scrap. Blue was an obvious colour choice as my theme, but which blue??? I decided on Blue Bayou from the current In Colour range and built my page from there. The DS paper is from fall flowers (pg 134). I have then used my Big Pieces (pg 88) and Little Pieces (pg 88) to create my embellishments. I have stamped in blue bayou, soft sky & old olive and then used my 1 3/8"& 3/4" punches, which saves alot of time cutting out and ensures perfect circles everytime. I have mounted the circles using double sided tape & stampin' dimensionals to give add depth to the page. The title I have used Headline Alphabet(retired) and stamped in versamark ink onto River Rock cardstock. I did have to cut these letters out by hand, which was the most time consuming part of the whole project. I then outlined the letters using my white gel pen. Lastly I have used my microsoft word program to write some phrases regarding the photos and printed straight onto my whisper white cardstock. Let me know what you think.

Friendship

This is a card I have made using mostly products from our current Summer mini catalogue and Sale-A-Bration catalogue. Our Sale-A-Bration promotion finishes at the end of February and the Summer mini items are only available until the end of March. As usual, there are some great items in both that I could not resist. To make this card I used 2 different papers from the Ginger Blossom DS paper to make the background. I have used the scallop edge punch on the bottom of one of the papers. The DS paper has been mounted onto river rock cardstock. I have then used some groovy guava as a border to my sentiment, which has been stamped in chocolate chip onto very vanilla cardstock. The scallop circle has been punched out of pretty in pink, and the polka dot flower has been stamped in pretty in pink onto very vanilla carstock. It has then been punched using 1 1/4" circle punch and mounted using stampin' dimensionals.

Dorothy the Dinosaur

I went shopping with my girlfriend today and our two girls(who are 5 weeks apart in age), to get their birthday presents for each other. My girl is obsessed with Dora and My Little Pony, while her daughter loves Dorothy. When I got home I decided I wanted to make my own special Dorothy the Dinosaur card for Jess. I was surprised at how well she turned out. I think I will try my hand at Dora for my daughter's birthday next.

It was not very difficult, just fiddly with all the paper piecing. I just went onto one of The Wiggle sites and printed out a colouring page of Dorothy. I then cut her out and used her as a template for my design. Next I just matched the colouring of Dorothy to my paper....and....Voila!!! You may have noticed I cheated a little and used punches for the flower and spots on Dorothy, they are a little to perfect for free hand. Hope Jess likes it!!!

Another Big Bold Birthday

My son is going to another friend's birthday soon and this time it is a little boy. Male cards are always hard to design, but thankfully when I was looking for inspiration, I came across my friend's and fellow Stampin' Up demonstrator's blog. Her name is Alison, and her cards are amazing. I got the idea of this card and it's colour combinations from one of her designs which you can see here. It uses the stamps set Big Bold Birthday (pg 37). Hope you like!!

Another attempt at scrapbooking

Well here is another attempt at scrapbooking, but I think this page turned out better than the last. It helps when you have a beautiful subject. I can't speak for all the other Mums out there, but I always seem to get suckered in to photo competitions with my kids. I have done really well up until now to avoid the stands - but this time I didn't and of course when I saw the photos I wanted them all.

For this page I just took colours from the photos for inspiration. The cardstock colours are barely banana, chocolate chip and apple cider DS paper (from the spring mini). The flowers are from the baroque motif stamp set (pg 98) and have been stamped in so saffron, cut out and adhered with stampin' dimensionals. The barely banana cardstock looked a little plain so I rolled it with the so swirly roller (pg 105) in versamark. I think my roller may have had some remnants of ruby red on it, but I like the effect it has created. I have also taken my white gel pen and gone around the outside of the chocolate chip cardstock for definition - and that's pretty much it. Hope you like!!!

Colour Challenge

My son is attending a birthday party this weekend for one of his friends. I found this cute wrapping paper and decided to use the colours as inspiration for the birthday card. The colour combination is as follows:

Orchid Opulence
Rose Red
Barely Banana
Perfect Plum
Taken with Teal

I decided for the actual design, I would have a go at paper piecing. I used the scallop circle punch (pg 142) & spring flower bouquet punch (pg 142) for the flowers. The leaves I have taken from a retired stamp set called 'Friendship blooms', stamped in certainly celery and cut out. The green ribbon for the stems was just some miscellaneous ribbon (not stampin' up) I had lying around, but it matched beautifully. I have used stampin' dimensionals to lift the flowers up off the card . Silver brads (not stampin' up) have been used in the centre of each flower for added effect. I have used the Linen background stamp (pg 107) on the card itself, I have also used another retired set 'Fresh Fillers' to create some detail on the flowers themselves. The sentiment is from Occasional greetings (pg 121). This is the final result - hope you like :)

My attempt at scrapbooking

Well since getting my new creative space, I thought I should try and get back into my scrapbooking....Oh Boy!!! I am really out of practice. I had some photos I had taken of my daughter at White Water World/Dreamworld from last year and decided to scrap them. I had an idea in my head, but I just couldn't quite get it onto paper, do you know what I mean??? Anyway, here it is - very basic, so I can only get better from here, right?

A New Year.....and a New Craft Room

Well I know I haven't been posting many creations lately, but I was in limbo as I really didn't have a creative space in which to work in. Since I moved and downsized, I wasn't sure what I was going to do. My mum came up with the suggestion of getting some furniture built to fit in my existing bedroom which could double as a study/craft room. So here are the photos of what we have done. I am really happy. I have a spot for everything (it's the best space saving area I have ever had).

Not sure how well it will all upload, but hopefully you get the picture......now all I have to do is start getting creative:)

Christmas Cheer - Belated!!

Well Christmas has been and gone, and likely it has been a very busy time for everyone, including me. However, I wanted to post this Christmas card I made for my family this year. I cased this design from Splitcoast Stampers. It was created by Beate Johns who is an amazing stamper in my book. I have always liked this card, so here it is. The card is called a Criss Cross Card, and you can find the instructions here The colours I have used are Old Olive, Real Red, Very Vanilla & Dashing DS paper. The tag created on the card insert is using the 1 3/8" circle punch, which has then been folded in half and adhered. The flower has been punched with the spring flower punch and a silver brad has been used to adhere. To finish off I have used 5/8" Old Olive ribbon, and stamped the flower from baroque motifs in Real Red onto Very vanilla cardstock and then used my scallop circle punch. The sentiments inside the card are from the stamp sets Short & Sweet (pg 118) and Occasional Greetings (pg 121). Hope you like....my family did!! Big Bold Birthday

My sister in law celebrated her birthday today. This is a card I put together to send her my best wishes. It uses the stamp set 'Big Bold Birthday', which is really cute. I have stamped the pieces of the cupcake individually and then cut and mounted onto whisper white cardstock. The frosting has been elevated on stampin' dimensionals and covered with dazzling diamonds to create some extra effect. I have used some decorative scissors for the edges of the whisper white cardstock. All other supplies are from Stampin' Up. Also for those of you who have been awaiting some new stamps, the Summer Mini Catalogue was released yesterday. There are some gorgeous stamps, DS paper and even some new punches, including the scallop edge punch which is the first thing I will be purchasing. I was having a play with colours tonight and made this card. However, my Mum and I both are unsure about the colour combination. I thought it was OK, but she wondered if the blues went with the green. What do you think???? I have included a recipe below.

Hi all. Just letting you know that the Christmas Stack workshop on the 24th November is full, however I still have some spaces available for the 11th November and the 12th December if any of you are still interested.

This little card I made for my nephew for his 2nd Birthday last month. The stamp set was part of the sale-a-bration promotion last year, so unfortunately is no longer available. What I do want to share with you is in regards to the sentiment I have used. It is from the hostess set 'So many sayings' (Level 1 - pg 19). I wasn't sure what to do with this set initially, because it is three stamps with lots of sayings on each one. But then I discovered that you can use the 'word window' punch (pg 142), and it fits perfectly around all the sayings, so then you have 34 individual sentiments and decorations you can use to accessorise your cards.......now how cool is that!!!

Now it is very easy to get both the stamp set and the punch with out spending a cent. Simply hold a workshop for family and friends in your home, collect sales to the total of $300 (which is very easy) and then as a hostess you can have this stamp set & an additional $30 to spend - which is the cost of the punch......now that's really cool. Christmas Card No 4

This is the last of the 4 designs we will be making at the Christmas workshops. I really like the earthy tones of this card, and it steers away from the more traditional colour combination of Christmas. You may have noticed that I haven't provided the recipes for any of the Christmas cards just yet.....obviously you will have to attend one of the workshops if you would like to find out!!! Tis the Season

This is the third card we will be making at the Christmas Stack Workshop. Remember that you will make 5 cards of each design (4 designs in total) for the cost of $15. All you need is your own adhesive. I would have to say that this card, along with the Joy card (see previous posts) are my favourite. Let me assure you they are not difficult to make. Christmas Stack Workshop

That time of year is almost upon us. I love making my own cards to send to those I love to wish them a Merry Christmas, however, time always seems to get the better of me. That's why I love organising a Christmas stack workshop. It is a time where I can get together with family, friends and other like minded stampers, and have a fun-filled time whilst getting my cards made ready for the festive season. I would like to extend an invitation to you to join me. For the cost of $15 you will be able to make 20 cards (4 designs). All materials will be provided, you just need to bring your own adhesive. Light refreshments & nibbles will also be on offer, and of course the Christmas CDs will be playing to get you in the mood....."O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree...." no I won't sing, don't worry!!! Big Pieces

I have recently purchased this stamp set 'Big Pieces' (page 88). I also bought the 1 - 3/8" punch so I didn't need to cut out the images (I know very lazy, but heaps cool)! I made this card for my Mum for her birthday. The colour combination is perfect plum & pale plum cardstock. I have then used ruby red, old olive, so saffron & perfect plum ink for the images and the sentiment. I have attached the flowers with stampin' dimensionals to give added appeal to the card. The sentiment comes from the stamp set 'Wonderful words' which I think are a must for all cards - a great way to fill that vacant space. Hope you like.

This is a card I made for a male friend. I have so much trouble trying to make masculine cards, how about you??? This was quick and easy really. The card size is actually 6"x 6". The card is old olive. I have then used some designer series paper from 'fall flowers' (page 134). Then I have used a strip of real rust across the card, and punched stars out of soft sky cardstock. The title has been created using sahara sand and whisper white cardstock. The sentiment has been stamped in old olive. Very simple I know, but I think it is quite effective.

Birth Announcement

My girlfriend wanted to make some birth announcement cards for her son and asked if I could help. I was naturally, more than happy to. She really liked the example used in the current catalogue on page 58, so we used it for our inspiration. The card base is bashful blue. We have then layered using old olive and certainly celery. The certainly celery has been stamped with 'Print' background stamp (retired set) in certainly celery ink, we then have used a white gel pen to create patchwork effect on the card. The word 'baby', stamped in bashful blue, has been created using the defining alphabet set (page126). The word 'welcome' comes from the stamp set 'short & sweet' (page 118), which has been stamped in certainly celery. The giraffe has been taken from my favorite baby stamp set called 'bundle of joy' (page 58), stamped onto barely banana with chocolate chip ink, and the spots have then been coloured using a blender pen and the chocolate chip stamp pad lid. We have then used a star punch on the whisper white cardstock, and cut some additional stars in bashful blue. They have been mounted using stampin' dimensionals. A little glitter glue has been used for added sparkle. The back of the card obviously shows the gorgeous Timothy.....what more can I say!!! This is a beautiful keepsake to have. Man's Birthday Card

This is a card I made for the kids to give their Dad for his birthday. It uses the stamp set Boatloads of Love (page 45). I have stamped the image in chocolate chip onto some sky blue cardstock. I have then used my blender pens and my stamp pads to colour image in. The clouds have been coloured using my white gel pen. For added sparkle I used some glitter glue. The birthday present in the tug boat is from a retired set from last year's catalogue, 'Favorite Teddy Bear'. I have placed present in the boat using the 'masking technique'.

Little Girl's Birthday Card

My son has been invited to a girl's 5th birthday party tomorrow. The theme is princesses and fairies (I know, my son has been informed he can wear batman, spiderman or something else boy related). Anyway, I couldn't go past the 'Pretty Princess' stamp set (page 38). I also bought a new cuttlebug embossing folder called 'Textiles' which I couldn't resist using on the card itself. I have used a piece of pale plum and covered using the Dazzling Diamond effect (see this post). I have stamped the princess image on very vanilla cardstock using chocolate chip ink. I have then used my blender pens and stamp pad lids to colour image in. The very vanilla was then attached to pretty pink cardstock and adhered to the card using Stampin'dimensionals. The tag was made using the tag punches, both located on page 142. Hope you like!!

A little bit of Christmas

One of my customers requested some Christmas card 'make & takes' for her upcoming workshop. So where better to look for inspiration, but Splitcoast Stampers. This one is sooo easy. The stamp set used is the All about Christmas jumbo roller (page 29). I have inked it up using always artichoke, and rolled it across the whisper white cardstock. The snowflake anchored to the word 'joy' is from short & sweet (page 118). I have used my 1/2"circle punch, and then attached using a silver brad. The pattern paper is from the current mini spring catalogue entitled 'Holiday Harmony' which matches beautifully with the purely pomegranate card. To finish it off, I have added some purely pomegranate double stitched ribbon. Hope you like....

I wanted to make a card for a friend, and somehow I just can't get past Baroque Motifs. As you can see, it is the same design I have used in an earlier post, but I decided to change the colours. The combination used here is always artichoke, elegant eggplant & purely pomegranate. Unusual but I think I like it.

Baroque Motifs - take two!!

I am loving this Baroque Motif stamp set. It really is very pretty...and girly! This is a card I cased from Splitcoast Stampers. I loved the colours used, so I decided to keep with them. The sentiment is from a stamp set called Short and Sweet (page 12). The material used is listed below.

Well I am having so much fun with my Stampin' glitter, that I decided to make another card using the technique. I fell in love with the stamp set Baroque Motifs (page 98) in the new catalogue. This is a 'case' of the sample card displayed in the catalogue. I have changed the colours, deciding on certainly celery, pale plum & perfect plum for my card. I have stamped the large flowers in pale plum onto white cardstock, and then used the smaller flower from the set and stamped inside with perfect plum. I have then cut flowers out and the flowers have been covered with Stampin' glitter (see previous post for instructions). The swirl pattern has been stamped with certainly celery ink. The flowers have then been adhered using Stampin' dimensionals. I have used silver brads for the centre of the flowers. To finish off, I have added a strip of pale plum cardstock & white grosgrain ribbon to the side of the card. I have stamped the sentiment in perfect plum onto white cardstock and then mounted onto perfect plum cardstock. Let me know what you think.

Dazzling Diamonds!!

Some of you may recognise this card from the current Stampin' Up catalogue (page 77). I thought it was a pretty card to 'case' and it gave me a chance to use my Stampin' Glitter. I have seen this technique used on Splitcoast Stampers and have been dying to give it a go. All you need is Versamark ink (page 150), Heat & Stick Powder, Stampin' Glitter & a Heat Tool (page 148). A hairdryer will do the same trick if you can not afford a heat tool just yet, but watch your fingers!!!! Here's how you do it:

1. Stamp images onto cardstock, allow to dry

2. Take versamark and cover cardstock

3. Sprinkle heat & stick powder over top while versamark still wet

4. Tap off excess powder and place back into container

5. Heat with heat tool until powder becomes sticky

6. Cover with Stampin' glitter

7. Tap off excess glitter and place back into container

8. Reheat with heat tool to set.

Result: Lovely sparkly card to give to that someone special.....SOoooooo easy!

Faux Tearing Technique

I didn't realise how bright this card was until I took the photo! I hope you can picture it OK. Faux tearing is a technique that is very effective. It creates the illusion of more layers, when in fact only one is used. All you do is pick a piece of coloured cardstock (I have used apricot appeal), and then pick a coordinating stamp pad (in this case, cameo coral). Take a piece of blank paper and tear it. Place it across the cardstock where you would like your faux tear line to be. Take your ink pad and a sponge dauber, and sponge along the edge of the tear. When completed, move the torn paper upwards slightly, and then ink a stamp of your choice (I used the paisley background stamp) and stamp over the top. Voila!!! Now it's just a matter of decorating the card to your liking. I have used a hostess set from last year's catalogue called 'Blooming with Happiness'. I have coloured the flowers of the cake using my stamp pad lids and blender pen. I recommend that you give this a try......it is so easy, and I am sure whoever you give the card to will be impressed.

Pretty Princess

Well as you can see I have fallen in love with the Joy Fold Card. This was another opportunity to make one. One of my girlfriend's daughter turns two this weekend, so here it is. I had some leftover designer series paper from last year's catalogue, called 'Slumber Party'. It coordinates beautifully with perfect plum, pale plum & pretty in pink cardstock, which I thought were nice girly colours. The stamp set I used was Pretty Princess (page 38). I stamped the image in perfect plum ink directly to whisper white cardstock. I then stamped the image on to some coordinating designer series paper and barely banana, and paper pieced the dress, star and heart on the crown for additional effect. I have also sponged the whisper white cardstock with perfect plum ink to give a more distressed/antique look to the card. The stars in the upper right corner have been created using a star punch (not Stampin' Up) and adhered with Stampin' dimensionals. I am also proud to say, that I drew and then cut out the number '2' for the bottom of the card, and stamped some stars onto the number. I've decided that I will need to buy a numerical stamp set for occasions such as these.

I'm Back!!!

Well I have officially moved, and can start creating again. Today is the first time I have been able to sit and play in ages (or even felt like it). I decided that I want to have a go at this card tutorial I found on Splitcoast Stampers, called a Joy Fold Card, designed by Beate Johns. I can not emphasise enough how wonderful this site is, particularly if you have a creative block or looking for inspiration. The best thing is that it is free!!! I found this a very simple card to make, and I love it. The top two photos show what it looks like on the outside, the buterfly on the bottom left holds the flap from opening. The photo below shows what the card looks like on the inside. I am going to send this to my little sister who has recently moved interstate. All supplies for this card (other than the designer series paper) is from the current Stampin' Up catalogue. A full list of materials used have been included below. Hope you like.....

New Header!!!

Well what do you think of my new look? The new header for my site has been taken from a kit entitled 'Beautiful Day' by Danielle Corbitt, a digital scrapbooker. I had never heard of digital scrapbooking until my good friend Nikki, showed me the ropes. I think it could be another aspect of craft I could become addicted to. I am moving this weekend, so I hope once things are settled I will get my butt into gear and create some more cards and papercraft creations etc to post. In the meantime, check out my favorite sites for inspiration, there is some great designs and ideas out there.

There is a lot cooking at my house at the moment!!! I will say upfront, that things may be a little quiet on the blog front this month. I have recently sold my house and am in the process of trying to pack. But I am the worlds worst procrastinator, so here I am. Hopefully when all has settled, I will be back in full force. This card is one made at a recent workshop I held. The stamp set is Backyard BBQ (page 53), and it is one that I have been hard pressed to use as it is so specific. I actually bought it this year for my sister's 30th birthday which was a BBQ breakfast. I made all the invitations (see this post). For this card, I actually stamped the weber, and then cut in half so that I could insert some hamburgers (s0 easy). The hamburgers have been coloured using my favourite product, the Stampin' pastels. You could also use the lids of your stamp pads for a more vibrant look. As usual, below is a list of all materials used.

Congratulations to my girlfriend Meghan and her husband Anthony on the safe arrival of their first baby, Timothy Patrick. I am hoping to get up to the hospital to visit the new mum and dad so I put this card together quickly to take with me. The colour combination is blue bayou, soft sky and certainly celery. I have used versamark and 'Spot On' (page89) for the background. The alphabet set I used was 'Defining Alphabet' (page 126). A list of the rest of the materials is below. Zambia Mission

This is a card I made for one of my friends from church. She is heading off to Zambia with a mission group for 3 weeks to help run a camp for disadvantaged children. I wanted to let her know I was thinking of her as she prepares for this exciting and challenging adventure. I wish her and the team all the best, and may God bless them as they minister to the children and may he keep them safe until their return.

I had some sahara cardstock, (which personally I think is a very bland colour on it's own), and decided to try and come up with a card design. This is the result. I have taken some chocolate chip cardstock and created a matte for the card. I have then used the simple somethings stamp set (page 43) and stamped the flowers with whisper white. The sentiment has been taken from wonderful favourites (page 119) and stamped in whisper white also. For colour, I used flowers from the looks like spring stamp set (page 76) and stamped in ruby red, pumpkin pie and summer sun onto whisper white cardstock and then punched out using my spring flower bouquet punch (page 143). To finish off, I have used some wild wasabi double stitched ribbon (page 146). I was quite surprised and pleased with the result. Let me know what you think. Now I will have to decide who to send it to. Better still, I might make a whole lot and send it to all my friends for eScape which is on the 25th June 2008. I was having a play with some of my stamps today and made this. I am still not sure about it to tell you the truth. Would love your thoughts. I have take a 12x12 piece of cardstock and cut in half to make a larger than normal card. The designed series paper used is Spring Showers left over from last year's catalogue. I have then used the 'All in the Family'and 'Wonderful Favourites' stamp sets to create images. The punch used for the flowers is the spring flower bouquet punch which is still available in the new catalogue.

Snappy Birthday

This is a card we made in a workshop I had last night (excuse the black ink on bottom of card, which happened in workshop). It's another design I cased from Splitcoast Stampers. I love the Crab and Company stamp set, and thought this was a really cute card. The colour combination is soft sky, blue bayou, whisper white and wild wasabi. I am loving these colours from the new In Colour range. I have used versamark to stamp images onto the sky blue cardstock. The main images and 'snappy birthday' have been stamped with basic grey. I have then used blender pens and the lids of the stamp pads to colour in the image. For a little added dazzle, I have finished off the card with some glitter glue. Hope you like.

This is another card I fell in love with on Splitcoast Stampers!! I love the colours used and the effect of the paisley background on the pale plum cardstock looks really classy. This card was very simple to make. I cut a piece of pale plum cardstock slighty smaller than the perfect plum card. I inked the paisley background stamp (page 108) with pale plum ink and stamped the pale plum cardstock. The birthday sentiment has been taken from sincere salutations (page 119) and stamped in perfect plum. The birthday cake, taken from greetings galore (page 56), has been stamped onto whisper white cardstock in black ink and then coloured using my stampin' pastels and blender pens. It has then been adhered to a piece of perfect plum cardstock which I have scalloped using some decorative scissors. Before adhering this image to the card, I have wrapped a piece of whisper white grosgrain ribbon (page 146) around the pale plum cardstock. I then have done a faux bow on the perfect plum using my double rectangle punch (page 142). I think it is quite cute!! Let me know what you think. Have a great long weekend!!

Hey everyone. It has been some time since my last post. I don't know where May went. I think I was suffering from 'stampers creative block', but I am back and will endeavour to post more creations this month. With the rain over the past few days, it is a perfect time to sit and play. Being stuck in doors is not always a bad thing!! I have a couple of workshops coming up, so to help clear cobwebs and find my creativity -ness I went to Splitcoast Stampers for some inspiration. I found this gorgeous card and decided to case it. I fell in love with the colours and thought it was a happy and fun card to give to someone and brighten up their day! Bud Basics...AGAIN!

This is another card I made using the stamp set 'Bud Basics' (page 78) of the new catalogue. It is my sister-in-laws birthday today. Happy Birthday! I really love the colour combination for this one. The card is ruby red, with a chocolate chip matte. I have stamped images on the chocolate chip with white craft ink, and added some glitter glue for added effect. The large flowers have been stamped onto cameo coral with chocolate chip ink, cut out and then outlined using a blender pen and the lid of my ruby red ink pad. The leaves have been stamped onto handsome hunter with chocolate chip ink and cut out. The buttons are from the earth elements collection(page 147) which are $13.50 for 80 assorted buttons....good buy! The sentiment has been taken from 'Birthday Whimsy' which was part of our Sale-a-Bration promotion, so it is no longer available. Let me know what you think.

Mucking Around

With all this wet weather, I have had a chance to muck around with my stamps. A colleague and I (Hi Helen), are holding a workshop at an upcoming conference, and I need to come up with a design. This is one of designs and would love to know what you think of it. Sorry, the photo is a bit glarey, but I hope you can make the card out OK. The stamp sets used are Bud Basics (pg 78) and Wonderful Favorites (pg 119) from the new Stampin' Up catalogue. The background stamp used on the so saffron has actually retired, but the mini flower from the set works nicely for this layout. All I have done is stamped the sentiment in white craft ink onto the chocolate brown cardstock. I have then torn a piece of so saffron and adhered to chocolate chip. The mini flower design has been stamped all over the so saffron with versamark. I have then stamped the small flower outline from 'bud basics' onto rose red, almost amethyst and whisper white, and cut out and adhered to the so saffron. The leaves have been stamped onto old olive and cut out as well. The final touch is some glitter glue to the centre of the flowers......DONE!!

Yes, another card! I am on a run this month, with birthdays, thankyous and so forth, I have difficulty keeping up! I received a lovely parcel in the mail today for my daughter from a dear friend at my old church. It was such a lovely gesture, I wanted to send a special thankyou her way. I struggled with a design for ages, and I still don't know what I think. When I look at the card, it feels like something is missing (maybe a background stamp is needed on the mellow moss....what do you think?) Anyway, all material used is listed below. RAK for a wonderful friend

I have a friend that is having a hard time at the moment, and I wanted to send her something to brighten her day. It was also an excuse to use some of my new Stampin' Up products and have a play. I have fallen in love with the stamp set 'Wonderful Favorites' from the new catalogue, because you can address a card to almost anybody, it has been used here for the sentiment. However, the thing I love most, and which I am sure has grabbed your attention is the Tag punch star. I had seen the tutorial for this on Splitcoast Stampers last year, and fell in love with it, but at that time, we did not sell the smaller tag punch. Well all that has changed with the the new catalogue, where you can buy both the large and small tag punch. That is all you need to create this amazing star. Sure it is a little time consuming, but I think the results are worth it. You can access the tutorial for yourself if you go to Splitcoast Stampers, and then go to resources. The star has been created using Slumber Party designer series paper (retired) and perfect plum cardstock. Naturally I have added glitter glue for added sparkle (I love my glitter glue). Benjamin turns ONE!!

One of my friend's little boy turns one next week. I just got this stamp set titled 'Boatloads of Love' from the new catalogue, and thought it would be cute for a first birthday card. Here is the finished product. When looking at the photo, I think the white matte could have been smaller, but I do like the boat combination. I took the birthday cake from the stamp set 'Favorite Teddy Bear', which retired from the last catalogue, but I thought it was cute, as it has one candle in the cake. I have used my blender pens and stamp pad lids to colour in the image. Naturally I have used some glitter glue on the clouds and candle for added sparkle.Hope you like!!

April - a Month for Birthdays!!

My best friend celebrates her birthday at the end of this week, and I had not made a card, that is until now. I was browsing my favourite web pages when I came across this cute card on The Stamp Link and knew I just had to case it. I am surprised how different a card can look with a few minor changes. What I loved about this design though was the rough edges around the pink cardstock and the paper piercing around the main card. You will have to let me know what you think. Unfortunately all the stamp sets used to create this card have retired, but I still have provided a list of material used for your own information:

Melissa's 30th - Happy Birthday

One of my good friends, Mel turns 30 tomorrow, hence another birthday card! I really liked the Big Blooms stamp which was available in the Summer Mini Catalogue (which finished yesterday). I have used this stamp in earlier posts as well which you can check out if you like. The colour combination for this card is perfect plum, certainly celery, cameo coral, apricot appeal, bashful blue and whisper white. The flower stems have been stamped in certainly celery directly onto whisper white cardstock, while the flowers have been stamped in colours listed above onto whisper white cardstock, then cut out and adhered to matte using stampin' dimensionals. I have used some glitter glue on the flowers to add some sparkle. The happy birthday stamp seen on the perfect plum cardstock has been taken from Birthday Whimsy, which was one of the Sale-a-Bration stamp sets offered earlier in the year. I have stamped the sentiment in perfect plum ink. I think it looks quite cute. Feel free to tell me what you think.

So check it out, my boy loves it. He is better on the computer then me.
5. Free recycling A friend put me onto this site, which looks really interesting. It's as the title suggests, getting rid or purchasing things for free. It is trying to prevent unnecessary landfill, by encouraging people to advertise unwanted stuff, that can be collected for free. You really need to look at it to see what I mean

Face Paint Creations

My children had their faces painted at playgroup one day. I just had to scrapbook the photos as they are beautiful memories to keep. I really enjoyed doing the Batman page for my son, particularly the POW and BAM. Unfortunately, the Headline Alphabet that I used in his page will retire from Stampin' Up as of midnight tonight. The good news is that the new catalogue is officially available to order from us of tomorrow. I am very excited to place my order. The large butterflies on my daughter's layout are using one of the Hostess level 3 stamp sets available in the
new catalogue. I have stamped the buterfly onto coordinating pieces of cardstock, and then paper pieced the butterflies together. I have used a white gel pen to add detail to the butterflies. I have listed all other materials I have used in these two pages below. Catch you later.

Princess Jessica turns Two!

Well my best friend's daughter turns two next week and I wanted to make a girly card. I recently purchased Pretty Princess so decided to use it for the basis of this card. I went to Splitcoast Stampers for inspiration, and found this design (I apologise for the photo, not as clear as I would like). The card is pretty in pink, which I have stamped with images from the stamp set in rose red ink. The mattes are regal rose, rose red and whisper white. I have stamped the sentiment and princess in basic black. I then have used the lids of my stamp pads and blender pens to colour the princess in. Colours used were always artichoke, so saffron and rose red. It may be difficult to see, but I have used some glitter glue on the wand, crown and shoes to give added sparkle. I hope Miss Jessica that you have a wonderful 2nd birthday with all your family and friends. Sending you my love and best wishes.

This is a card I have made for one of my close friends. I have to admit that I CASeD the colour combination and design (partially) from Stampin' Up's impression publication (available to Stampin' Up demonstrators only). I have used the stamp set Big Blooms, which is featured in the Summer mini catalogue.I have stamped the big bloom flowers onto whisper white cardstock using bashful blue, so saffron and rose red ink. I then have cut out the flowers and adhered with brads to a whisper white matte, which inturn has been adhered to a rose red matte. The rose red matte has been attached to certainly celery cardstock using Stampin' dimensionals. I then have stamped some leaves in certainly celery and placed under flowers. The word 'smile', which is part of wonderful words stamp set, has also been stamped in certainly celery. I then have added some Stampin' Up apple green grosgrain ribbon to finish the card off. This is a baby card I made for my friend. I used the stamp set 'Baby Firsts' which also retires at the end of March. So many great stamps going.....but hopefully some awesome ones to come!!! I have used my stampin' pastels and blender pen to colour in the images, and some glitter glue for added sparkle. The remaining materials used are listed below.

Braydon's Christening Invitation

One of my girlfriend's sister asked me if I could help design an invitation for her son's christening. I was so honoured to be asked, that I made a sample the same day. Together we have tweeked the layout, and this is the end result. I think it is very adorable. Let me know your thoughts.

To make this card, we have taken an A4 piece of brocade blue cardstock and cut it lengthways. I have used the paisley background stamp and white craft stamp pad to create pattern. The bottom third of the card has been folded to create a flap. The little patterned anchors my girlfriend's sister located at Spotlight (I don't think we could have matched it any better). We used a brocade blue brad to adhere to the card. Decorative scissors have been used along the fold of the brocade blue. The matte used on the front is close to cocoa and natural ivory. The personalisation and verse has been done on the computer. The insert for the card is made from natural ivory cardstock. We have punched the corners of the insert using the slit punch. The word 'Celebrate' has been taken from the All about U stamp set. We have double stamped using brocade blue and chocolate chip ink to create a shadowing. The Teddy bear has been taken from Favorite Teddy Bear which is a set due to retire shortly (Boo Hoo)! All of the pieces have been stamped with chocolate chip and then cut out and adhered to the card. The colours used include: close to cocoa, so saffron and old olive. The scarf has been highlighted in certain places using a white gel pen. The date/time/place/RSVP stamp was taken from the Backyard BBQ stamp set which is in the current Summer mini catalogue (which expires at the end of the month). I think that is all the details I can give.....what an essay. Hope you like.

I have made this card for my father-in-law who is having some health concerns. It is quite hard to make a masculine card, and I am not sure whether I achieved the look (let me know what you think). The colours used are night of navy, brocade blue, old olive, more mustard and very vanilla. I used a stamp from petal prints to create branch design. The branch colours have been done using old olive ink, and just continually stamped to create different shades of the same colour. The sentiment has been taken from the hostess set 'Riveting' which will soon be retired. I have stamped the sentiment on more mustard and then old olive cardstock, and then cut star from old olive image and mounted onto more mustard. I then have used stampin' dimensionals to lift design off from card (which may be difficult to see in photo). The brocade blue cardstock has been stamped with image from fresh fillers in brocade blue ink to give added interest.

I know what you must all be thinking......not another Album in a Box. I can't promise this will be the last you will ever see, but it will be the last for awhile. Following the last two workshops I have been inspired to create a couple as gifts. As you know, I made one for a friend who has just had a baby and this one I made for my sister for her 30th Birthday. I wanted to do something special, that would also provide some memories of our lives thus far. I filled the box with photos and lovely sister quotes (which can be seen in the bottom two photos). I have decided to put The Stamper's Versalog website in my links to the left, as many guests at my sisters party thought the quotes I had were awesome. I let them in on the site, and thought you may also like to use it for your own cards, scrapbook pages or gift ideas.

There were also many comments about the box design itself, and my sister thought it was beautiful!!! This was not an expensive gift to make by any means, but when time and thought are given, I think it is of equal value and just as precious to a person.

To give a description of how I made the box would take another post!! So I have just given a list of materials that I have used for your own reference.

Materials used:

Album in a Box Overload!!!

Well, we had another fun night yesterday at the second workshop for the Album in a Box. The girls were so creative, that I decided that their work needs to be shown off to everyone out there. So I hope you enjoy this post full of photos. Remember, there is one last workshop I am holding for this on the 17th March (Monday @ 7.30pm). So book your spot if you haven't already. Wild about you...Kurt!

Well as promised, this is the album in a box I have just completed for a friend from playgroup. She had a baby boy on Saturday who she called Kurt. I have to admit that I CASeD this design from one of my friends who made this box for her sister at my last workshop. I fell in love with the elephant and just couldn't wait to try it out for myself. The sun is one of the flower stamps from the 'Looks like Spring' stamp set. The remainder of the picture has been created using the 'Wild About You' stamp set. The elephant has been stamped in buckaroo blue. The flower in his trunk was quite easy to do. I just inked the petals in cranberry crisp and the stem in true thyme, then stamped directly onto the cardstock. The grass (also in true thyme) was created by inking just the stem (without petals) and stamping free hand across bottom of cardstock. All other material used to create this project are listed at the end of the post.

I decided that I would add a personal touch to this album, and place baby quotes in the box. I have provided a close up of one of these quotes. I found an excellent site called The Stamper's Versalog, which provides verses and quotes for all occasions. There are some other great sites also such as Scrapbooking Quotes, but if you Google the words scrapbooking quotes, you will be amazed at the number of sites available. If your anything like me, trying to find the perfect quote for a card, scrapbooking page or project can be quite hard, and it's nice to be able to access such sites.

All the box needs now is some gorgeous photos of the new bundle of joy, which I will leave for the new parents, and they will have a lovely little memory box to show and display.

Friendship Blooms

Well Sale-A-Bration is officially over, but I wanted to show you a card I made using Friendship Blooms for my sister on the weekend. I have stamped the swirls onto the lavender lace card using versamark. I have then stamped the flowers onto cameo coral cardstock with rose red ink (nice combination I think), cut them out and used my white gel pen to accent petals. The word 'Celebrate' comes from wonderful words stamp set, and has been stamped in certainly celery onto certainly celery cardstock....VOILA!! Very quick and easy card, but elegant at the same time.
On another note, I still have some spaces available for the Album in a Box workshops on Tues 4th March and Monday 17th March. Please let me know if you are interested in attending. The last class held on Friday 22nd February was a blast, and everyone had fun. I hope to post some of their creations on here (there is creativity in all of us)!!! Birthday Card for my Sister!

My sister turns 30 next week (hope she doesn't mind me telling you)!! I decided to have a play and make a special card for her. I am undecided as to whether I like the final outcome...let me know what you think!! The colour combination is perfect plum, elegant eggplant & certainly celery. I have also taken some patterned paper from the slumber party pack to add some contrast to the side of the card. It has been sponged around edges with perfect plum to give a more weathered/aged appearance. The flowers have been created using the Spring Bouquet Flower punch (the brads are some I had...not Stampin' Up). The two girls have been stamped onto whisper white cardstock using the all in the family stamp set (which will be available in the new catalogue this year) and coloured in using Stampin' pastels. I have also distressed the whisper white cardstock using a pair of scissors. A summary of the materials used are listed below. Have a nice day!!!

The son of one of my good friends from work is turning 3 this weekend. It was a chance for me to pull out my favorite stamp set, 'wild about you', and create a card. This is what I came up with. I also recently purchased some of the Stampin' Up buttons (which like everything else, coordinates with colour families). I think they are really cute, and they come in different shapes and sizes. They are only $13.50 for 80 buttons........I think that's great value!!!! (see page 149 of the current catalogue).

Scrapbooking for a change

As many of you may already know, I was a scrapbooker before I ever got into card making and Stampin' Up. However Stampin' Up has given me more versatility and creative ideas for my scrapbooking. That being said, I never seem to have enough time in my day to sit down and scrap. These pages I have just completed. They are the kids Santa photos from last year. I had some of the Holiday Thyme designer series paper leftover from the promotion last year and decided to put it to good use. I also used the stamp set Hung up on the Holidays. Add some embellishments such as chipboard numbers, brads, stickers, glitter glue and ribbon and the pages are complete. I also like to journal on all of my pages to keep the memories alive.

Welcome to the world Grace Denise!

My sister's sister-in-law (do you follow that) had a beautiful baby girl last month. It is her first baby, and long awaited for! I naturally wanted to design something personal to convey my best wishes to the new parents, and this is what I came up with. All the material used is available through Stampin' Up, except for the patterned paper, which is a Heidi Grace design called 'Loving you Dots'. It went well with the dots on the butterflies so I couldn't resist! I also used some rub-on letters for the name which I picked up at one of the craft shows I attended last year. The butterfly stamps are from a Hostess Level 3 set, available in the upcoming catalogue, called Time Well Spent (absolutely gorgeous), the welcome baby button stamp is from a Hostess Level 1 set, available in the current catalogue, called Riveting. The minature hearts are from Small Sayings, a stamp set currently in the Mini Summer Catalogue. It is a very cute set, and reasonably priced at $29.95 (set of 12). Obviously, two of the stamps are only available to you as a hostess, so if you like any, it is added incentive to host a Stampin' Up workshop for your family and friends. Feel free to contact me if you are interested.

The card took a little while to make, more because I couldn't make up my mind as to what I wanted to do. The card is made from pretty in pink cardstock. I have sponged around the edges with pixie pink to give a weathered look. The butterflies have been stamped on whisper white cardstock with perfect plum, and coloured using the lids of my stamp pads and a blender pen. I have then mounted the butterflies bodies directly to the card and placed Stampin' dimensionals under their wings to give the illusion of fluttering. I have added some glitter glue to them and the minature hearts for added sparkle! I have stamped the welcome little one onto pink passion and certainly celery and cut out the nappy pin from the certainly celery image and mounted onto the pink passion one. It in turn has been mounted to the card using Stampin' dimensionals. I then have used some chocolate grosgrain ribbon to finish off the design. I am happy with the result. This is a card I have made using Friendship Blooms from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. The card has been stamped with the paisley background stamp, and the flowers have been taken from the friendship bloom stamp set. It is a simple design but effective. For added bling I have used glitter glue on the flowers and have done some paper-piercing around the cranberry crisp mattes. Album in a Box - Workshop Dates!!!

Hey all. Well I thought it was time I had another workshop. Since many of you love the Album in a Box (pictured here), I decided to make this the next project. For a cost of $20 you will be able to make 2 of these fantastic novelty albums. All material will be provided (other than adhesive, you will need to bring own) and light refreshments and nibbles will also be included. There are 3 dates that I can offer. Classes sizes are limited to 10 people. Dates are as follows:

Friday February 22nd at 10am
Tuesday March 4th at 7.30pm
Monday March 17th at 7.30pm

30th Birthday Invitation - Backyard BBQ

My sister is turning 30 next month and asked if I could make her invitations. She has decided to have a BBQ breakfast and wanted to have invitations that supported that theme. Initially we tried making a cup shaped card, and then an egg shaped card before I remembered this stamp set that is currently available from the Summer Mini catalogue. When I showed the set to my sister, she was sold!!! It is called Backyard BBQ and it is really cute. For this card, I have drawn inspiration from Splitcoast Stampers (excellent ideas on this site). I decided to use earth elements as my colour base. I have provided a list of materials used as per usual. Just so you know the heart on the apron has been taken from another stamp set called All About U, and the words 'to party' have been taken from the stamp set Everyday Flexible Phrases. The hearts on the summer sun strip are from Simple Sayings. The images on the card background and summer sun strip have been done using versamark.

I saw this card on Pat Huntoon's site and decided to case it. I chose more earthy colours, and once I finished it, I thought it would make a nice card for a man (say Valentine's Day!) It was very simple, but I like the use of the giraffe which I think gives the card a cheeky (but cute) look to it.

Let the Sale-A-Bration begin!!!

Hello everyone. Happy New Year! Hope you had a wonderful and safe Christmas and you are enjoying 2008 so far. It is a particularly fantastic time at Stampin' Up with the Sale-A-Bration promotion underway. During this promotion you can earn additional free stamp sets whether you are a customer, hostess or new demonstrator (conditions apply) so everyone wins. If you would like to know more, feel free to send me an email. We also have our Summer mini catalogue which has more stamp sets to choose from. This card has been made using Bud Basics from page 6 of the catalogue. Some of you have already received this catalogue, but if you haven't, just visit the Stampin' Up website (link to the left) and view online. It was very simple to make. I have stamped outline images onto a natural ivory matte with chocolate chip, then I have used pumpkin pie, ruby red and old olive for the solid stamp images. I have then made a tag using my cuttlebug diecuts and stamped thank you sentiment. The tag has been attached using chocolate grosgrain ribbon, which has then been attached to the natural ivory matte. The matte has in turn been mounted onto a ruby red card....VOILA!!! I think it looks quite effective. Let me know what you think. As normal, I have provided a list of material used.

This is another of the Christmas cards we made at the workshop this month. It utilises the Madonna & Child stamp set that is available in the current Stampin' Up catalogue (page 26). I felt the stamp was beautiful in itself so the card is very simple to reflect that. I have included two photos for you to look at. The list of materials are listed below.

Sandy Claws

Unfortunately this Crab & Co stamp set is unavailable now!! It was in our Spring Mini Catalogue this year. I know some of you purchased it, as did I. I wanted to show you a Christmas design using the adorable little crab. Again this was not a difficult card to make. I have stamped the crab using chocolate chip ink onto confetti cream cardstock, then I have coloured the crab using my Stampin' pastels. The confetti cream matte has been mounted onto a strip of always artichoke, which is then mounted onto real red cardstock (I really like this colour combination)!! The always artichoke has been stamped with the Print pattern background stamp, and then I have used white gel pen to create a quilt-like pattern. For added bling, I used glitter glue to accent some elements on the card, also the edges of the confetti cream cardstock has been inked with chocolate chip to add dimension.

Well it's nearly that time of year again!! What better way to get in the Christmas spirit then sending handemade Christmas cards to family and friends. I thought I would share with you one of the cards we made at the recent Christmas stack workshops. It was quite simple to make, but the little touches gave it added elegance. The card itself was embossed using a cuttlebug embossing folder. Then the stamped image (taken from Greetings Galore) was mounted on bravo burgundy, which was notched, and gold cord was weaved around the notches. For added bling, some workshop attendants coloured the baubles and star on the tree with glitter glue. All products used, other then the cuttlebug and glitter glue are available from Stampin' Up.

All in the Family

I got my All in the Family stamp set this week and couldn't wait to use it. I decided to design another Christmas card for the Christmas stack workshops I am running (see previous entry). What I like is that you can create a personal image reflecting your own family to send to family and friends.....and it's lots of fun to make. I have stamped the family with chocolate chip ink an then coloured in using my stampin' pastels and blender pens. The Christmas tree I took from the stamp set Greetings Galore. I have used the Riveting stamp set (hostess set) for the tag at the top and stamped the image on two pieces of coordinating cardstock and paper pieced together. Everyday Flexible Phrases stamp set has been used for the 'celebrate christmas'. The background has been done using the Twinkle stampin' around set and inked with old olive. The main image has been sponged around edges with old olive ink and adhered to the chocolate chip matte using the slit punch. I have provided a full list of materials used below.

Well just wanted to show you my scrapbook pages using the Cuttlebug and Stampin' Up® products. I'm pretty happy with the results. I have used the Cuttlebug on the picture frames to add dimension, and then the Looks Like Spring stamp set for embellishing. All papers are from the Stampin' Up® range. Penrith papercraft festival

Hi all. I have just returned from a fun day at the papercraft festival in Penrith. There were over 37 different retail stores to browse through with some great bargains to be had. I finally plucked up the courage to invest in a Cuttlebug!! For those of you who have not heard of this machine, it makes die-cuts for your scrapbook pages and also embosses. I can't wait to try it out. There was a stall run by some Independant Demonstrators from Stampin' Up. It was great to check out for inspiration and also to meet some lovely people. There is still time to check out the fair. It is open again tomorrow between 10am-4pm. It is only $10 entry, and well worth it!! On another note, if any of you have been interested in purchasing the "All in the Family" stamp set that I mentioned in my last entry, I have a special for you. Instead of paying $73.95 plus postage & handling, I will sell it for $59.15 plus postage & handling (this is minus my 20% commission). Mother's Birthday Card

I thought while I am at the computer, I might as well make another entry. I am still having some computer issues, so it may be a while before I am back to make another entry. I have to thank both my brother-in-law and mother for letting me on their computers. On that note, here is the card that I gave to my mum for her birthday. I decided to use up some leftover designer series paper from the scrapbooking night (some of you may recognise the paper from the recollection series, pg 132). This is the result. I have used sponging on this card as well around the edges. I have a thing for sponging at the moment if you can't tell.

Another Card

Well as I promised, here is another card. This is a design that I prepared for one of my upcoming workshops. I recently purchased the Looks Like Spring stamp set (pg 67). So I wanted to see what I could do. As usual I browsed the splitcoast stampers website for inspiration, and found this design which I have tweeked to suit the colours I wanted to use. What I love about this card is the effect of the two toned flowers. It was Soooooo easy. All I did was inked the image in a lighter ink, and then using stamping sponges (pg 143), used a darker ink and sponged directly to stamp. Then I stamped the image....VOILA!!!! I have listed below the supplies I have used if you wish to give it a go for yourself.

Baby Shower

I am going to a friends baby shower tomorrow and thought I'd try my hand at yet another card. As yet I don't have any baby related stamps other than Wild About U. I thought I would revert back to another of my favourite stamp sets, being Favourite Teddy Bear to see what I could create. I tried to pick neutral colours as she doesn't know what she is having, but I wanted it to be bright and fun. I have used paper piercing to create the image. This is the result. Little Girl's Birthday Card

My cousin's little girl turns 4 this week. Today we went to a park with all the kids to have a party. I made this card for her using the Wild About U stamp set (which seems to be a favourite of mine at the moment). I wasn't sure about colour coordination for this card. I knew I wanted it to be bright pink but was stuck for other colours to use. That's where my colour coach came in handy (pg 126 of the catalogue). For $18.95 it gives you a number of colour co-ordinations to use for the entire Stampin' Up® colour range. I was quite happy with the results. Let me know what you all think.

There are 60 in total which is ample for my Christmas list this year. How about you? As this was my first attempt, some designs I like and others I think need a little tweeking. It's all trial and error really. As they say practice makes perfect. Nephew's First Birthday Invite

My sister flattered me the other day when she offered to pay me to design my nephew's first birthday invitation....the pressure!!! I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, so as per usual, I jumped onto Splitcoast Stampers and cruised the gallery for ideas. I knew I wanted to use the Wild About You stamp set (pg 87) so when I found this design I decided to CaSE it (copy and share everything). As you can see in the first photo the invite is inclosed within the framework of the card (pocket created at front of design). I also decided to put some magnetic tape on the back so that the guests could attach to their fridges for easy reference (see second photo). The last photo just shows you what the card looks like without the invite insert in the pocket. The actual invite template I have designed on the computer and attached directly to the cardstock insert. I have listed below the material I have used to make this design. I had a lot of fun making this, particularly as this is my very first nephew. It is always rewarding to create something for someone who is very special and dear to us!!!

My son started pre-school this year, and received his first birthday invitation to a 4th birthday party this weekend. I have just purchased the Crab and Company stamp set from Stampin' Up's® Mini Spring Catalogue so decided to design a card using this set. These are the results. I think he is rather cute don't you!!

60 Cards from one Simply Scrapping Kit

Well it has been a little while since my last post. Boy, how time flies. It has been a very busy month for me with lots of workshops, and I have been having so much fun. Now for those of you who have purchased any of the Stampin' Up® Simply Scrapping Kits ($24.95 - pg 134-135), here is a fantastic idea. When I was on Splitcoast Stampers, I came across a template by Amanda Cox, who designed 60 cards from one Simply Scrapping Kit. That's Right....60 cards!!!! I thought it was a brillant idea, so I bought the At Home Simply Scrapping Kit and off I went. I have taken photos of only a few of the cards I have made. I plan to do the same thing with All the Trimmings Simply Scrapping Kit for christmas cards, and I will try and post my results later. All the stickers and diecuts are included in the kit, the only additional material I needed to purchase was Stampin' Up's® grosgrain ribbon (burgundy pictured here - pg 148). For $10.95 I got 23 metres of ribbon, and there's still plenty leftover. Sorry that some of the photos are sideways, I hurriedly did this post as I was eager to show you the results. This is another christmas card I have designed for a workshop I have this Friday. It utilises the Wishing You stamp set which can be found in the Stampin' Up® Mini Spring Catalogue (available till 30th November 2007) and the Stampin' Up® linen background stamp (pg 106). Trifold Card

This is a card that I designed for one of my workshops this weekend gone. The template I naturally got from Splitcoast Stampers. I have used paper from Stampin' Up's® In Colour range to make this card. True Thyme for the card, and Vintage Violet and Whisper white for the mattes. The stamp sets used include All About U (pg 115), Fresh Fillers (pg 100) and Favorite Teddy Bear (pg 46). The stamp pads used are also from the In Colour range being cranberry crisp, marigold morning and true thyme. I am really loving these colours. I do hope they stay around when the next catalogue is released. To hold the card together I have used Stampin' Up's® Black gingham ribbon (pg 148). Hope you like.

Card Organiser

This little card organiser template I found in the resource section of Splitcoast Stampers. It was designed by Beate Johns. It is a nifty way to track birthdays and anniversaries as well as store the cards for the occasion. It gave me the opportunity to use my Bind It All tool, which I have been itching to use again. I have used true thyme, cranberry crisp and confetti cream cardstock on the cover, and confetti cream cardstock for the internal pages. Stampin' Up® Petal Print stamp set (pg 68) has been used on the entire project. I have handcut the letters on the front cover and have added some gold brads for added effect. The calendar printouts were available online, so I printed them onto whisper white cardstock and adhered to the organiser. This would make a lovely gift for someone special, or on the otherhand, you could keep it for yourself (I think I may do the latter). Candle Decorating

I have been experimenting with candle decorating over the last few months after I saw a tutorial for it on Splitcoast Stampers and seeing a lovely example in the current Stampin' Up® catalogue (pg 67). These are some photos of the one I have made today. You can pick plain candles up from most variety shops quite cheaply. I have used cranberry crisp, true thyme and confetti cream for my paper. I have stamped the cranberry crisp paper with the Print Pattern background stamp (pg105). I have used a white gel pen (pg 145) for the dots. The true thyme has been shaped using some decorative scissors. Wonderful Words stamp set (pg 114) has been used on the confetti cream. I have embellished the candle using some paper flowers I got at the recent Stitches and Craft show in Sydney, which I think finish the project off nicely. The paper has been adhered using adhesive, and some brads (pg 146) have been used for added effect. I am really loving the versatility I have with my Stampin' Up® products!!!!
